La Iglesia en Córdoba ha manifestado en reiteradas ocasiones su inquietud por el avance de las apuestas online, que consideran un "flagelo" y "un barniz" la ley actual que las regula, enfatizando la necesidad de perfeccionarla y endurecer las restricciones. Entre las propuestas que la Pastoral Social ha venido impulsando, y que fueron presentadas nuevamente en esta reunión, se destacan la prohibición de la publicidad de apuestas online, el aumento de las restricciones de acceso para menores a través de filtros y sistemas de identificación biométrica.
